Privacy Policy

What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and optionally a profile photo and phone number. When you create a listing, we collect property details, photos, and location information you provide. If you choose identity verification, we temporarily collect photos of the front and back of a government-issued ID and a selfie for manual review.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the Godoo platform
• To allow tenants and landlords to communicate
• To calculate internal trust signals used only by our moderation team, from activity you can already see on your own account (ratings, reports, cancellations, and whether your phone is verified) - never a public score, and never based on any government ID
• To send important account and safety notifications
• To confirm the identity of Short Stay hosts and show an accurate identity-verification badge

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services (Firestore, Authentication, and Storage), which are hosted in Google's secure data centers. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Identity Verification Photos

Identity-verification photos are stored separately from your public profile. They are never displayed publicly, emailed, attached to support messages, or made readable through the Godoo client application. Only authorized Godoo administrators can open them through short-lived, audited access links while reviewing your submission.

Raw ID and selfie photos are scheduled for deletion as soon as Godoo makes a final verified or rejected decision. If storage is temporarily unavailable, an automated daily cleanup retries the deletion. The case status and its administrative audit history may remain while your account is active so Godoo can explain the badge and investigate abuse. Deleting your account also deletes the verification case and any remaining verification photos before your sign-in account is removed.

Phone Numbers

If you add a phone number to your profile, it is only revealed on your listings when a user explicitly clicks "Show Phone Number." It is never displayed publicly without your consent.

Cookies & Site Analytics

Godoo uses Firebase Authentication storage to keep you logged in and Google Analytics to understand site usage and performance. Google Analytics may set analytics cookies and receives information such as pages visited, device/browser details, and approximate location. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell this information.

We also run our own first-party, privacy-preserving analytics to understand marketplace traffic and search demand. This assigns your browser a random identifier (and your current tab a separate session identifier) - both are converted to one-way cryptographic hashes the moment they reach our server, so the original values are never stored. If you are signed in, this hashed identifier may be linked to your account so our reporting does not double-count you as two different visitors; if you are signed out, it stays anonymous. This system records which marketplace pages were viewed and, only when you submit a location search that successfully resolves to a real place, the searched location text, its general area (rounded to roughly 100 meters, not an exact pin), and your intent (buy, rent, or short stay). We do not record your IP address, and clearing your browser's site data or switching devices creates a new, disconnected anonymous visitor - we cannot link that back to you.

Your Rights

You may delete your account from Account Security or request deletion by emailing support@mygodoo.com. If an automated deletion cannot securely remove verification photos, it stops and asks you to retry rather than leaving those photos behind after your account is gone. Email requests are processed within 30 days.
